I don't think so. TMS 2012 won't let you replace blank fields with values, but if your records have place holders in the fields, you could use search and replace function to fill the information in batch records.

Will this work for existing object records? That is, filling in the values after the records have already been created with all the other information.

The following procedure can help you create batch records with repeating information:

* [cid:image001.png@01D0F5F8.9CE2D3F0] Create a sample record. then go to "File" select "Copy as Template"

* check "Copy Range" under "Enter New Object Number", enter range accession numbers in Primary and Secondary box, click Next to next page

* Deselect All first then select fields that you need to repeat information in object records, then click Next

* Click Finish button and you have created 10 records with the repeating information and then just edit the actual values.

Good luck!

I'd like to know this, too!

And if there isn't a way-perhaps this could be a feature to include in TMS2016?

Subject: Batch Creating Value Records

Does anyone have a clever way to batch create values for a group of object records in TMS 2012? I have someone entering values for large groups of objects where most of the value information (date, purpose, linked constituent) is the same. However they are finding the data-entry process very tedious, and so we are wondering if there is a way to create the value record with the repeating information and then just edit the actual values.

Thanks!
