Unless you have a totally Mac environment, you might want to test using a PC tablet for Prep. We use iPads for condition reporting (using PDF expert), but we have a Dell tablet for inventory. TMS scales much better on the tablet and it fully integrates with our network so people can use their individual logins and move around in storage areas to do inventory data entry.

Hi Everyone,

I was looking through the archive for mail about using TMS on a tablet for inventory purposes. We are considering setting that up for our Art Crew to shorten the time between physical moves and system updates.

Quite a few recent posts commented on using a program similar to Remote Desktop to access the full TMS on the tablet.  I'm wondering, has anyone tried creating their own applet / plugin to collect location updates that they then feed back into TMS? That is something we might explore. (I am assuming Gallery Systems has not produced one as I've not seen or heard anything about it.)

If you have any thoughts about this idea at all - advice, warnings, encouragement -  please get in touch!

Thanks,
Frances
