For the last couple of months I've been demonstrating tapestry weaving
during the exhibit "Woven Gold: Tapestries of Louis XIV" at the Getty
Museum. For two hours on Tuesday afternoons I sit with my loom in the
gallery, and am, dare I say, MOBBED! I end up talking to anywhere between
250 and 500 people during each sitting. The interest is palpable and the
amazement is genuine.

I was trying to figure out how to best emphasize this interest to museum
administrations (both at the Getty and elsewhere) to show that the public
is indeed interested in this art form, and social media came calling:

The museum posted a 15 second video on Instagram of me weaving and it got
over 800 likes within the first 24 hours. As of this moment we're at 935.

I joined Instagram just to cast my "like", won't you?
