Just curious -For those who have Capisco chairs, do you have the saddle seats or the traditional seats?
I don’t have them in the lab, but my husband has 2 at home in his office – one with the saddle seat and one with the traditional seat. He bought the one with
the traditional seat when he no longer found the saddle to be comfortable.

We also have the Hag Capisco chairs in the studio at Blythe house where we have higher work tables. Most people find them comfortable, especially
when working at higher tables but we have one member of staff who finds that they hurt her hips. We have also bought Adapt 511 Posture chairs and Adapt 521 Posture chairs, which are also available with three different post heights and you can have the seats
made shorter or wider to fit the person using them. We have found these chairs to be very good for working a low level, such as at the tapestry frame, and for general desk height work. These were around £700 a chair.

There were two papers on lab ergonomics at last week’s AICCM Textile Symposium in Sydney, HAG Capsico chairs were mentioned and I believe the textile
conservators from the National Gallery Victoria, Melbourne presented at NATCC in NYC as well. Feel free to contact me for the pdf references. I was recently quoted NZD$1800 for the chair, about US$1200

There were some discussions a decade or more back—have they continued to hold up? Are they still comfortable?
Ergonomic chairs appear to be expensive and I would prefer to get something that adapts to people of different sizes.
