Happy to help out with this, could you send a screenshot of the detail/edit view? I'm also happy to share a similar report with you that I've built in SSRS if you'd like, you could open it on your end and compare/contrast the two more easily.

If I try to sort (with images) the table below, I get a “to do this, all the merged cells need to be the same size” error message.  You have to delete the hidden row to allow sorting with images.

 

Does anyone know how to prevent this hidden row?  My Google skills are not finding a solution J.  I noticed that if I add a row below the data, outside the group, that it fixes the problem.  However, I get a blank row not related to the report.
