We’re in the middle of doing it ourselves as we cannot afford to have Gallery Systems implement the upgrade for us. BUT at least we know that if we break the product, GS will fix it for us.
We have been without a head of IT for some time, so our contract guy is reading through the documentation so we can get through this together.
I’m dreading the reporting errors as I have been spending a lot of time improving our existing reports to make them do what we need and I think all that work will soon be out the window.

Dimitry just upgraded us from 9.35 to 2016 all at once. It’s a bit daunting, particularly with regard to the changes that are required in the reports, but we are working our way through it. Brian created some
very clever views to aid in keeping old reports running without wholesale changes. Check with me in a couple of weeks and I’ll let you know what we run into.

Subject: Upgrading from 2012 to 2016
Hi, everyone,
With the release of Media Studio, I’m hoping to get our team onto 2016 so we can take advantage of that new product. However, we’re still on 2012. Has anyone made this “leapfrog” upgrade? I understand we’ll need to upgrade to 2014 and then
to 2016, but it can be done in one go, apparently. Before I make my case to our IS department, I want to be prepared with the pros and cons others have encountered.
