Check with Gallery Systems about using the TMS media loader plugin. Everything has to be perfectly entered before running, but it does let you set up batch media record creation for TMS.

Subject: Batch importing media renditions

Hi TMS users!

This is my first time posting to this listserv – exciting!

I have a question about batch importing to TMS.

Ok, let’s say we have a collection of 100 films each which has 10 images of the object that we want to add to the “media rendition” tab in TMS. So, 1000 images that need to be imported.

To do this we

1.       Go to the media tab on the “front page” of the object we wish to link the photo to

2.       Click on Add

3.       This brings up the “Media Query” window where select “New Entry” and click Next

4.       This take us to the “Add New Item” window  where we add in the rendition number

5.       Then we make sure the Format and Path are correct

6.       Then we click on the “filename” box which brings up a Windows Explorer window

7.       We browse to our desire file, select it and then click Add

8.       This brings up new window in TMS, which our workflow doesn’t do anything in, so we close it and it takes us back to step 1.

This process works, but it is slow – painfully, painfully, slow. Given all the bells and whistles TMS has, I figure there must be a quicker way to do this.

Does anyone have this issue and perhaps a solution  worked out that speeds it up? Perhaps there is a way to tell TMS to treat multiple photos as one rendition and so, in effect, batch upload the photos per object?

Thanks,

Blake
