Hello all,

I’d be very much interested as well as we were heading this way too a year ago. But our curators and staff in charge of acquisitions were a bit timid about, not TMS, but computer in general for this matter.

We’d have liked to follow propositions from the beginning of the process to the lists of works to be examined in our internal acquisitions’ commissions, following successive approvals if presented to our ministry of culture as well.

Successive approval till the last one would be in TMS and then everything from receipt for examination in the museum with former owner’s details to the “first version” of the scientific record.

Official/financial reports might be generated and then would be hand-signed by the presidency and attached so it won’t be probably completely paperless as our financial department won’t be in TMS and has the final word.

Pretty much the same as the Met’ I guess.

We will have to wait now another year I guess, to see that, as more urgent things are on our plate, but I’d like to follow the topic !…

Thanks for bringing up the subject,

Elsa

Hi Jennie,

We are heading that way. I am afraid we will not be paperless any time soon– because some of our curators aren’t on TMS (by choice, much to our chagrin). Have you been able to be completely paperless or do you produce reports for signature at some point along the way? I am very curious as to how you have set it up. I know that’s not a simple answer.

Thanks,

Heather

Subject: TMS for Acquisition Workflow

Hi Everyone

Are any of your institutions using TMS for tracking approvals for acquiring works? Is TMS integrated with any workflows related to these procedures? We generate our acquisition paperwork from TMS and are wondering if any other museums use TMS as a paperless workflow tool for acquisitions.

Many thanks,

Jennie
