Dear Sarah
Here at the National Gallery, we use the following
Loan Purposes:
·
Long Loan In
·
Short Loan Out
·
Exhibition Loan In
·
Long Loan Out
·
Temporary Deposit
Long loans in and out are exactly that: long-term loans, usually for display alongside a permanent collection.
Short loans out are our loan out equivalent of Exhibition loans in: short-term loans, usually for display in a temporary exhibition.
We don’t use Loan Type.
Best wishes
Rupert

Subject: Loan Purpose and Loan Type
Hello TMS users!
I am in the process of reviewing our workflow of the Loans module. I wondered if anyone was willing to share some screenshots, or list of terms used for Loan Purpose and Loan Type. Ours is a bit inconsistent so I would
love to see how other museums establish these authority fields.
Thanks!
Best Regards,
