Hello Amanda & Sarah! We have started switching to "containers" for our photography storage boxes, and it looks like it is going to be far better than simply using locations, especially since the registrars are going to rearrange the photography storage room. If you want to move a box to a different shelf, you can move the entire container instead of changing the location of each photograph. I would love to hear from someone who has been using containers for a while - are there any downsides that we should be looking out for? I will also be very curious to hear how the barcoding goes, Sarah! Fatima Fatima Mahdi Collections Information Specialist/TMS [VMFA-web-sig] Virginia Museum of Fine Arts 200 N. I would highly recommend establishing containers for each solander box. Much easier in the long run for inventory as well as object movement. We currently store all of our works on paper in individual Solander boxes on shelving units. The locations converted to the location authority by Site: Vault; Subsite: Box; and Unit: Name of the box (ex: IV UVW). I was hoping to number each of the shelfing units and shelf the boxes are on but am not sure of the best way forward. Would you suggest creating containers for each box? Thanks for any suggestions!
