I listened to these webinars the last time they were offered. If you haven’t heard them yet, they are excellent at introducing you to the specifics, terminology, advantages and disadvantages of light fastness, degradation due to light, “natural” vs. accelerated ageing.

Advanced Online Seminars

Atlas Online Weathering Academy

Continuing Atlas’ long tradition of providing weathering related seminars and workshops for our clients, the Atlas Client Education Team has developed an online seminar program based upon our signature seminar “Fundamentals of Weathering."

These online seminars introduce the fundamentals of natural and accelerated weathering and are ideal for those involved with designing, evaluating, specifying, selling, or purchasing materials or products that could be affected by exposure to solar radiation or weather. Atlas' Fundamentals of Weathering online seminar series consists of five one-hour seminars that address relevant weathering and lightfastness testing related topics.

The webinars will broadcast at different dates and times. Each seminar will be followed by a live questions and answers session.

Seminar Programs

Part 1: Factors of Weathering
This seminar addresses the influences of weather, i.e. solar radiation, temperature, and moisture on materials including how they are measured and how their impact can be estimated.

Part 2: Outdoor Weathering
This seminar addresses the fundamentals of natural weathering. This includes static exposures in different reference climate zones as well as various outdoor accelerated test methods.

Part 3: Laboratory Weathering
This seminar addresses different kinds of weathering laboratory instruments, various lamp types and their spectral irradiance distribution as well as choosing the right instrument for various applications.

Part 4: Weathering Testing and Basic Standards
This seminar addresses how environmental stress factors are translated into artificial weathering test cycles and the purpose of standards for weathering testing. Examples are given on the most common test methods for automotive, textiles, coatings, and other applications.

Part 5: Acceleration and Correlation
This seminar addresses the principles of how to accelerate weathering tests and what has to be considered to avoid unrealistic results. Mathematical/statistical procedures are described on how to compare and how to validate weathering results from different exposures.

Registration
Attendance to the seminars is free! To register, simply click on the appropriate dates for each seminar you wish to attend in order to complete your registration for that event. Once you complete your registration(s), you will then receive e-mail confirmation(s) for your attendance.
