Hi Caroline
We do our scanning in the collection vaults and then through our corporate WIFI upload the .txt to an ftp site on the network. At a later point we upload into TMS using the barcode module which
then updates all the records associated with the container.

Hi Anthony,
When you scan a location, where does the information from the barcode actually end up? I’m a little confused as to how TMS reacts to the location. Is it automatic? Or do I
have to have the text field for location open to enter the location?

We move a box by scanning the new location, and the container and TMS updates everything assigned to that container. Easy and fast.

Subject: Barcoding Locations
Hello TMSers!
Do you find that using barcodes for locations help with location accuracy in TMS?
I've been reading the messages about barcoding works on paper, and Anthony's response got me thinking about all our issues with vague and inaccurate location records again.
