Hi all
Just a follow up on my query from the other day about enabling the ability to view related records.
Jon from GS has kindly solved my issue, which was that boxes under both Constituents
and Objects need to be changed. I’m attaching his solution below, just in case anyone has a similar problem in the future:
Just picking up on your post to the Listserv: the ‘Related 1’ and ‘Related 2’ nodes of a security group are for controlling access to associated (‘related’) records within a module e.g. object to object (Objects with parent-child relationship
e.g. portfolio-print); constituent to constituent (Constituents with see-also relationship e.g. siblings). The cross-references between Objects and Constituents are managed via the various ConXref permissions under Constituents (Acq, Ex-Coll and Object related;
plus Constituent Xrefs), including through Constituent XrefDetails to Constituent Alternate Names. In Constituents, ability to View related records via the ‘Related’ drop-down requires permissions to View (could have further permissions, of course) Constituent
Alternate Names, then Constituent Xref Details, then to whichever modules you want the security group (therefore user with security group assigned) to be able to view. In Configuration you have to traverse the same set of tables that link Constituents to other
module records, but from different starting points…
