Hi All,
I'm having the same problem as Carrie. I did try to create the query group like Brad suggested but in Field value I'm not able to search by date. Instead it only gives me the option "Yes/No" (see picture attached). Is there a way to change this?

Thank you for all of this information about developing query groups.
We have already completed our query groups. The problem I am having is I want to only select the flex field that has been checked (thus completed) rather than pulling up all the flex field records.

When I do a specific search it pulls up all the records that currently have flex fields checked and unchecked.

I really just need to pull up the checked records which I was able to do before with the (...) button.

Hi Carrie;
I'll outline what we do here at the ROM; we use both ungrouped and grouped flex fields. To begin, this takes some work in the Database Configuration utility so you need permission to use it or have your sys.admin. do the work for you.
In order to search on flex fields I first created flex field query groups via Database Configuration. From the main menu select Manage->Query Groups.
Under Configuration Label: Query Groups: Objects I created a number of flex field query groups: DNH Flex Fields contains all of our ungrouped flex fields whereas groups prefaced with FFG contain flex fields within that group.
The DNH Flex Fields query group contains all of the ungrouped flex fields our Department of Natural History users will want to search.

Whereas FFG Geography: Global Position/Georeferencing contains all of the flex fields related to this one topic within this one group.

After I create a query group a window pops up where I can make this group available via Query Assistant and or Advanced Query. Using FFG Geography: Global Position/Georeferencing as my example, I make this group available to users only via Advanced Query.

I then navigate in Database Configuration to Available Hierarchies: Objects:Flex Field Xrefs:Objects Flex Fields. Again, using FFG Geography: Global Position/Georeferencing as my example, I select all of the fields in the right pane under Configuration Value: and drag and drop them into my FFG Geography: Global Position/Georeferencing Query Group that I just created. I follow the same process for each FFG query group that I create.

For ungrouped flex fields I select flex fields from just Available Hierarchies: Objects:Flex Field Xrefs and drag and drop those into my DNH Flex Fields query group.
I exit Database Configuration, go back into TMS and construct an Advanced Query. Under Field Group I select FFG Geography: Global Position/Georeferencing and then under Field Name I select a field within that group, the Relation and enter a term in Field value. I then Execute the query, no need to click on the ellipsis.

If I want to search for an ungrouped flex field in DNH Flex Fields I select it under Field group: and then choose one of the flex fields under Field name:

I am hoping someone can help solve a problem with searching flex fields.
I have done as instructed in the help menu: Advance Query, select Flex Fields, then select Flex Field search (Click on...), however when I go the ellipses ("...") button, nothing happens, that is the Flex Field Lookup window does not appear so that I can select a new search.
