Hi Robbie,
I'm not sure if Megan had the chance to write back as she is a bit under a crunch, but we are working on getting you a one minute time-lapse video of the Water/Ways installation in Syracuse, best, e

MoMSers,

We sent out a notice to you all yesterday about our upcoming social media campaign for MoMS’ 25th anniversary asking for your stories. We just sent out a similar request to past venues in the hope that they too will join in the fun. We do not have email addresses going back the full 25 years, so please feel free to share this announcement with your MoMS networks in your states.

We look forward to hearing from many of you over the next several weeks!

Many thanks,

Robbie

Thank You for Sharing in Our 25 Year Journey

Museum on Main Street 25 Years.

Dear Robbie,

It’s hard to believe, but this year MoMS is celebrating our 25th anniversary!

For 25 years, the MoMS team and our state and local partners have brought the Smithsonian to rural communities like yours and inspired cultural innovation in small-town America. As we reflect on the past quarter-century, we couldn't be more pleased that you have been part of our journey.

To commemorate the invaluable work and partnership that you have given MoMS over the years, we’ve planned some very exciting social media campaigns and events. Now, we need YOUR HELP to collect the stories that will help us celebrate YOU and all the communities that have been a part of our mission.

Towns like yours are the heart of Museum on Main Street. Your commitment to promoting local history and culture and creating community engagement is inspiring. MoMS is all about great stories, so we’d like for you to tell us your favorites! What was your most unforgettable experience hosting a MoMS exhibition? What was your most memorable encounter with a visitor to the exhibition? How did hosting the exhibition change your community or organization?

Starting Monday, August 5 through Friday, September 27, we are launching a #MoMSat25 video campaign on Twitter and Instagram. In this campaign, we’re asking people and organizations around the country to share their experiences with the MoMS program in their community through a 1-minute video. Videos can be posted on Twitter and/or Instagram using the hashtag #MoMSat25. Please be sure to tag us (Twitter - @MuseumOnMainSt or Instagram - @sitesexhibitions), and your state humanities council. If you’re not on social media, we still want to hear from you. Just record your story
and come on over to the MoMS website to submit it at the link below. Select “Create an Account to Get Started”, complete your free registration, and upload your story.

We will be sharing/retweeting and commenting on the videos on our platforms, and we invite you to join in the campaign and activate your community to participate in the celebration.

Please keep an eye out for our video announcement on Monday, August 5 at 10am EDT on our Twitter and Instagram platforms. We hope that you’ll retweet and share the video with your audiences to get the ball rolling! Please contact Sydnee Winston at [log in to unmask]
if you have any questions about this campaign.

Thanks for hosting a MoMS exhibition and bringing our mission to life. You are the reason we love what we do!

Warm regards,
The Museum on Main Street team at the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service
