The edit button does not edit citation links, instead it opens the linked record for editing that record (for instance, opening an object record).

To enable adding Object Xrefs, make sure that View/Add/Edit (and Delete, if required) are enabled in the Security Group under the "Bibliography > Bibliography Object Xrefs" hierarchy.

Bibliography records can also be attached to Sites and Exhibition records, using the "Bibliography > Site Bibliography Xrefs" and "Bibliography > Exhibition Bibliography Xrefs" hierarchies, respectively.

If this does not work, then check the settings under "Objects > Bibliography Object Xrefs" hierarchy.

Hi Chad,

I am trying to allow her to do citations as cross-references between bibliography and object records. I wanted her to add in articles of press coverage to the bibliography module that we can then link to the objects so we know which objects were included in the coverage.

She can add information and records in the bibliography module but can’t add citations. Also, strangely enough, the edit button is not greyed out and when she clicks on the edit button (under either the citations or bibliography tabs) it takes her to the reference in the other module.

Thanks,

April

April, There are two overlapping concepts here. The citation of the reference material as would appear on a works cited page, and citations as cross-references between the bibliography record and object or exhibition records. Can you clarify?

I am trying to configure a users security settings so they can add citations in the bibliography module. However, since Bibliography isn’t listed as one of the modules you can change the security group of, I was trying to change the security setting for the “overall” department.

Under security group maintenance Citation is listed as one of the hierarchies under bibliography and view, edit and add are checked. Citation is also found under hierarchy for related records, but that didn’t seem to work. I also added the edit & add ability for citations under objects – bibliography object xrefs – bibliography – citation, but that doesn’t seem to work either. Then finally I checked edit and add for Bibliography under the Objects Folder. Nothing seems to work and I don’t really know what my changes are making on the front end side for the user.

I feel like I am missing something obvious so any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Thanks,
