Agree - sounds like a worthwhile scan/link project.  If you can scan to machine-readable pdf, even better.

Hi everyone,

I had posted this question on CSAAM a while back as I felt it was a larger cataloging conversation, but I received no feedback. I am posting here in hopes that others who have been through similar circumstances might have some insight to share. Many thanks in advance for your guidance!

Dear All,

Many years ago my institution acquired approximately 12,000 photographs from a single donor. We are coming around the finish line in completely documenting this gift and I want to find a useful way to reference the very helpful research materials the donor amassed alongside their collection. Most of these documents are spiral bound, much like a catalog on the collection, and reference individual or groups of photographs. All of this pertinent information will be captured in the object record (our institution uses TMS). However, these are primary resources relating to this collection and I want to effectively reference them in the object record, as well as properly document them in their own right. Has anyone else come across a similar situation? How have you handled this material?

Any thoughts and guidance are much appreciated. If I can share anything further, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank you!

Amanda
