External Email - Exercise Caution For status flags, do you have one catch-all flag that covers all things that cannot be loaned or exhibited, or do you differentiate it at this level? We have been discussing this as well. -Suzanne [https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flh3.googleusercontent.com%2F7h1vnZ3zPlpPEJhKZKBr-khEF_tvkRrvoErfmaUbWMLMCVYbG7sUIDTdHm5FZz3E6Bpi1BKxH7S-7rWTlBg_dY38qOIzL9aCIEP577kXmH8N1NFEhGmmygmL67mC93qxqNwLLJld&data=02%7C01%7CTMSUSERS%40si-listserv.si.edu%7C9a7809282b4940956a9108d7d4c26a0a%7C989b5e2a14e44efe93b78cdd5fc5d11c%7C0%7C0%7C637211803787991713&sdata=KF6pF%2By8%2BZZDuJCypD9PH24FWkeQtv5dQOSUgAJ%2FNrk%3D&reserved=0]<https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.artsbma.org&data=02%7C01%7CTMSUSERS%40si-listserv.si.edu%7C9a7809282b4940956a9108d7d4c26a0a%7C989b5e2a14e44efe93b78cdd5fc5d11c%7C0%7C0%7C637211803787991713&sdata=yhro%2Fa8FynhurBZZMRAGnNXClw0wnOsrdtENX6jwUUA%3D&reserved=0> Suzanne Voce Stephens Senior Registrar [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> P: 205.254.2975 F: 205.323.6093 Birmingham Museum of Art 2000 Rev. During this time, it seems staff is thinking about those items which have been pushed down the “to-do” list. Our Prints, Drawings, and Photography Department would like a way to indicate if an object is not suitable for travelling or viewing in their study room. Some of the reasons an object would be flagged are the following: fragile medium, fragile object, past light exposures, etc. It seems a system could be developed across the collection not just for one department. I would be interested to see how others are tracking this in their systems. Thanks for sharing your ideas, solutions, and attribute lists.
