I agree that this was actually more useful when it was just a checkbox since then it could be applied to previous staff who no longer have TMS accounts. At my previous institution, we instead used a constituent attribute to indicate current/previous employee status and organizational role, as well as entered dates of employment in the historical dates field. That may be an option for you.

Also if your database is hosted or logins are administered by an external IT department, it’s possible that you may not have the rights to edit logins in db config, which would affect your ability to use the staff checkbox easily.

Wow, that's opaque! I've spent way too much time previously in dbconfig trying to activate that Staff button! I'm managing an institutional history in our TMS, so I want to designate curators and department heads dating back to 1895 as staff. But now that I see how that works, I'm not about to create accounts for all these dead people...

Hmmm. This doesn’t work for my version (2016 R2).

This is handled through DB config, by linking the constituent record to the TMS user.

I wonder if this gets activated when you link a user in db config to a constituent record (2014 forward)??

Good day!

I have been examining the Constituent data entry screen and have noticed a designation for “staff” on the tick bar (along with Active, Approved, Public Access).

[cid:1739b2ce68e5b16b22]

The box is greyed out, which means that I cannot use it—much as I’d like to.

We’re running version 2016 R2.

Can anyone tell me how I can reactivate this so that I can use it? I cannot seem to find it in the dbconfig.

Thanks for any assistance in this matter.
