We classify ivory not as a material but depending on the object usage. Only raw, un-worked materials are classified as “Natural Material.”

Good afternoon, TMSers!

For those of you who have materials-based entries in your Classifications list, under what category do you include ivory? Do you have a separate entry? Is it bundled with something like "Natural Materials"?

Thanks!

Fatima

I acknowledge that I live and work on the ancestral homelands of  the Mattaponi, Pamunkey, Chickahominy, and Upper Mattaponi tribes of central Virginia. I offer my deepest respect for their resilience and continued stewardship of their culture.
