We have a temporary location called "Not Located During Inventory" - which we assign to any object during routine and spot inventory checks which are not located in the specified location.

We don't deem anything "missing" for a location until inventory has been 100% completed.

Until inventory is complete, we either query "Not Located During Inventory" as a location for what is unaccounted for and we maintain an object package, which is periodically updated to reflect reconciled objects and newly identified NLDI objects.

I am curious if others have created a location authority in TMS for those items that are not located or found during inventory or during regularly scheduled object retrieval (for exhibitions, loan consideration, etc.)? If so, can you share how you manage this and how this looks in your database?
