We have just started playing around with using the Exhibition Object, Status tab flex fields. We created a Flex Field Group where we try to track some basic exhibit preparation tasks such as : image needed, final image completed, mat/frame required, mat/frame completed, mount required, mount completed, no work necessary, etc. We have yet to develop the accompanying reports and list views but have used it with check-off boxes and dates to record activities done per object.

We do much of the same things that Todd mentions for the Michael C. Carlos Museum. We renamed the Remarks field to Installation Notes and record the same types of things there in more detail than the check-off system I mentioned above. And I totally agree about the difficulty in renaming / reordering sections. When we have 300-400 objects in an exhibition it is particularly painful.

It has been great to hear what others are doing and I’ll now have to check out the requests in the community section to upvote some of these!

Thanks everybody for all your replies! So interesting!

Has anyone tried using Exhibition Object flex fields? What do you use them for?

Hello TMSers!

Does anyone use TMS for the process of developing an exhibition, tracking potential loans early in the curator's development process, in addition to actual loans that come in the door?

I am curious about your workflow, and what Object Number, Object Status, and Department combination you use for the records.

Thanks folks!
