At the time I wrote this article I was contacted by Danielle Uchitelle at Gallery Systems about their interest for having this project presented, and I submitted a proposal for their Collective Imagination 2020 in Washington, DC, which was accepted. However, my attendance was dependent on a grant that was not awarded, so I couldn't attend. Since then, other museum work has come along and we are still not fully open to the public...

Hello,
My institution is planning a collections move in the near future. In preparation for it, we'll be creating barcodes for each item and we plan to use TMS's barcode plug-in. I've not participated in this kind of project, so I'd be interested in talking with people who have done the TMS side of this before. What's involved? What pitfalls should I try to avoid? I'm interested in a from-the-beginning kind of explanation. If you've been involved in a barcoding project before, might you be able to spare 20 minutes or so for me to pick your brain?
