Dear Margaret, This could be part of your issue: sometimes thesaurus terms are not deleted, or unlinked from an object, but marked as "archived" - which make them invisible.

Try right-clicking on the Attributes window and select "Show Inactive" and any inactive terms will appear, but greyed out.

Or better yet, pull all of these terms and links from SQL or via Crystal Reports by selecting instances where ThesXrefs.Active = 0 and ThesXrefs.TableID = 108 (linked to objects).

Subject: Unlinking old geography thesaurus xrefs

External Email - Exercise Caution

Good morning all,

When our database was migrated from Argus to TMS, it came with an old Argus geography thesaurus/authority that was linked over to Constituent Records through Geography XRefs. We have been updating these to TGN as we come across them, but I've finally gotten around to a concerted effort to clean out all the remaining ones and delete the old Authority.

However, Thesaurus Manager won't let me delete some locations in the old Authority because it insists that they are still in use. I have run multiple queries trying to find where they're linked, but search results keep coming up "not found".

Is there a way to get Thesaurus Manager to tell me the path to those links so I can say goodbye to them once and for all? Or a report I can run on Constituents that might get me there?

There is a very remote chance they might be linked to the Objects/Context tab, but Advanced Query won't let me search for geography xrefs there either or add that option to the query configuration for that tab.

Thanks very much.

Margaret Bullock
