External Email - Exercise Caution

Hello,

We are doing this at Princeton University Art Museum.  Unfortunately, my colleagues from the museum who worked on this are no longer here, but from what I understand it was a relatively easy integration where the library would hit the museum search API and pull in the results.  If you need any further info, let me know and I can talk to our colleagues in the library to see if they can provide any input.

Best,

Kelly

Hi Shelby,

Sign me up. I think Princeton University Art Museum was already doing this as well.

Please keep me posted.

Many thanks, Karen

Hi all,

I’ve reached out to our campus partners who are happy to participate in a discussion. I’ll set up a zoom session for us to connect for a Q&A. If you’re interested in joining, please message me and I’ll set up a chain off of the listserv to coordinate!

We'd love to talk to others who are considering this as well. Like Karen/Vassar, we're still several stages out from implementing. Can we coordinate with some of you on questions so that Shelby's team doesn't get inundated?

Hi Melanie and Karen,

Our institution is currently working on this exact project with campus partners across UT Austin. We are currently in our testing phase using Primo to integrate each institutions data using OAI-PMH. I’d be happy to connect you with our group to answer any questions you might have!

Hello Melanie,

We are definitely interested in this as well and have talked about it for quite a while. Although currently in our long range planning I would be very interested to see how other folks are handling this. Would be great to get a small group of us academic museum TMS/eMuseum colleagues together to discuss these types of projects that are unique to those of us residing within larger academic institutions.

Best, Karen

Hello academic museum colleagues,

There is a desire to make our museum’s object records discoverable thorough our university library’s catalog searches. Has this come up at your institution? Currently exploring what might be possible and would be interested in hearing any success stories and challenges. Our library uses Primo –  Ex Libris – ALMA.

Thank you to those who have gotten in touch through other channels!

My best,
Melanie
