External Email - Exercise Caution

Hi Beth,

we are still in the testing phase – as of now our departments mainly reflect the responsibilities: they show which subdepartment in our museum created a given media record (with the exception of media containing rights information such as digitized contracts – for them we need different user right settings so they have their own department). We are developing a list of entries in media view type where quality is major category (picture – professional / picture – scan / picture – snapshot / picture – conservation picture).

It might be useful to have in mind that departments are the basis of the rights management – so if you want to assign rights in dependence of the picture quality using the departments for quality differentiation might be a good idea; same if you do not have the need to differentiate.

Best, Iris

Betreff: Departments in Media Module

We were wondering if folks would be willing to share what Departments they have set up in the Media Module. We are looking towards to developing this area and were particularly interested if anyone was using them as a method to differentiate quality or standards of an image or other media format.

Many thanks in advance,

Beth
