I would be very hesitant to use the SubLevel field for container information. It is a free text field (which always leads to typos) and it lies outside the location hierarchy, so creating accurate inventory lists becomes very challenging.
On the other hand, container/crates are a royal pain. The process of moving objects in and out of containers is not at all intuitive in the location move assistant, and this can lead to errors and frustration. But I do think in the long run it is preferable
to using a free text field like the SubLevel field.
We have been putting box locations in the Unit field of the location authority under the appropriate storage room and bay. That is a challenge, too, if you have entire boxes frequently moving to new locations, because you have to create a new unit location,
move the objects to the new location, and then deactivate the old unit location. But at least the move process is clear that way.
Now that we are moving in to TMS Collections, we may try containers again, since the move assistant looks like it handles containers better.

My institution has not been tracking locations on the container level. I'd like to begin tracking solander boxes using container field in location tab. Level or Sub level fields may also be options. I'm curious to hear what colleagues are doing elsewhere.

Dear colleagues,
does anyone work with a video sequence editor alongside media studio or TMS in general? We are looking for a way to create timecodes for av media and then add them information to TMS and though we hope for such a possibility to be available in media studio
directly at some time, we need some solution for the interim time, so if any of you have experiences in that area, we would be very happy to hear about them
Best regards,
Iris
