) POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - Part Time
Naturalist
Seeking qualified individual to serve as a member of the education staff at the
Environmental Learning Center (ELC). This is a part time, year-round position,
reporting to the Education Coordinator, with hours not to exceed 25
hours/month.
Responsibilities include:
1. Teach 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade curriculum-based environmental education
programs (1 or 2 days a week)
2. Help instruct summer ecology camps for youth
3. Work with volunteer teaching assistants
4. Work as a supportive member of ELC education staff team
5. Some overnight programming
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in environmental or education field
• One year of relevant teaching experience with youth audiences
• Enthusiasm for natural world and outdoors
Attributes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work outdoors under physically demanding conditions
• Enjoy working with children
Salary: 12.50 per hour

2) POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - Part Time Aquarist
Seeking qualified individual to serve as a member of the education staff at the
Environmental Learning Center (ELC). This is a part time, year-round position,
reporting to the Education Coordinator, with hours not to exceed 25
hours/month.
Responsibilities include:
1. Clean all Wetlab tanks &filters; and, Entry Pavilion tank, filter
&protein skimmer on a schedule approved by Education Coordinator.
2. Perform water changes on a regularly maintained schedule and make or obtain
sterile salt water.
3. Maintain aquaria equipment (protein skimmer, UV sterilizer, carbon filters,
heating elements).
4. Portion out food for Entry Pavilion and Wet Lab fish.
5. Oversee general fish health; keeping an eye on any sensitive species in Wet
Lab.
6. Meet with Education Coordinator as needed to resolve any aquarium problems
and to discuss supply orders.
7. Work with education staff to make collections as time permits.
Qualifications
• 3 years of relevant aquaria maintenance experience
• Good knowledge of
