At the Metropolitan we use alphas in the accession number to indicate
recto/verso: for example, a work with images on both sides is assigned
2002.56a,b. Documentation practices vary at the Museum--some TMS users
indicate recto/verso after the titles, others in the Notes field. I think
best practices would be to create a single record for recto/verso. Trying to
work around TMS functionality, however, occasionally requires us to make two
separate entries for purposes of label copy, check lists etc.
