Please respond to this notice by adding your names to the petition to save the Musee des tissus in Lyon, France. It is operated by the Chambre de Commerce; some conservators have attended the technical sessions there on weave structure through CIETA, the organization of textile historians housed there. Many have benefited from CIETA multilingual glossaries of weave structure or its Bulletin de Liaison. The Musee des tissus is itself home to an extraordinary textile and costume collection (see http://www.mtmad.fr/fr/Pages/default.aspx ). If you haven't had the good fortune yet to visit the Musee des tissus et des arts decoratifs, you may especially want to sign the petition so it can stay open until you get to visit!
