Thanks, Emmanuelle, very helpful.

I have begun using Karma for this process, and was thinking about using the LIDO-to-CIDOC-CRM mapping that is available for our object data.

Hi Chad,

Thanks for mentioning the Yale Center for British Art.

Just a precision: we are using COBOAT to extract LIDO XML out of TMS, not to produce RDF. But being able to extract data out of TMS is the first step.

We use the Mapping Memory Manager (3M) to produce RDF: http://139.91.183.3/3M/ListEntity?type=Mapping

RDF is semantic agnostic so the ontology (semantic framework) that we organize our data with is the CIDOC-Conceptual Reference Model: http://www.cidoc-crm.org/official_release_cidoc.html

My slides from CI2016 on this are here: https://yale.box.com/s/8zzktwnf9x248mjql68znefqw3stwzqv

I’m happy to answer more questions.

Subject: Semantic Web + TMS

So I know a few institutions have started the foray into transform TMS data into RDF triples for use with the Semantic Web.

For those that have done so, I'm interested in learning more about the mechanics of how this is happening for you. I believe that Yale has done this using COBOAT, but I was wondering if there were any other approaches that people have taken.

Thanks for your input and consideration, ~Chad
