This would depend on your organizational structure, but because we have
several curatorial divisions with the registrar's office serving them
all, it makes sense to have the collections information system run by
the registrar. In our case, we created a unit of "Collections
Information and Registration Services" to reflect this.

Subject: TMS management: Registrar or IT?

Hi all,

Quick survey for TMS managers:

Do you report to Registrar? Collections Management? Curatorial?
Information Technology?

What are the pros and cons of managing TMS from within each of these
different departments?

Thanks for any feedback -

Happy Holidays!

Jeri
