I just discovered the right click too. You can also use it in the attribute section

WOW I didn’t know you could right click here : ))
But that is perfect – we have recently upgraded to TMS2017 and we have some constituents cleaning to do so this is a great help. Thanks for sharing.
All the best

It’s just with a right click on the chosen constituent. I only started cleaning constituents after our recent upgrade so that’s why I’m not sure if the functionality exists in older versions.

Kind regards,

Thomas

I don’t know if this is a new feature of TMS2017 but the Constituent Assistant in Objects lets me “Copy to Entire Selection” and “Delete from Entire Selection”, which is a great help in swapping out duplicate constituents from a bunch of records to the correct one, although you do have to be mindful that the correct roles are being maintained.

Me too. Before the ConXrefDetails and CnXrefSets tables were added (TMS 2012), I always did it in Access. Though you had to be careful, it was really easy. Now I would never dare do it in Access!

Despite training, we sometimes suffer from duplicate Constituents. I have found the safest way to swap them for a single, correct Constituent record is to add the word “DELETE” to the display name, then go to each instance and add the correct Constituent with desired role, etc. and delete the ones marked “DELETE.” Then go to the erroneous Constituent records, try to delete, and if there are still links, TMS will tell you where they are. You then have to track them down and swap them for the correct one.

Swapping linked Constituent IDs via SQL can be done but is dangerous – you have to take into account the default Name ID and the two ConXrefDetails links. It’s too easy to overlook something and bollix it up.

Subject: constituent merge

Hi-
I I'm trying to merge two constituent records into one entry. One record is linked via loan and the other object.
I tried F1, thinking there would be a clear answer provided but alas no.

Do you have the touch to turn two (or three) into one? Can you share the method?

Thanks in Advance-
Diane
