Another way you can find all loans related to this constituent through constituent record: Constituent->Related->Loans (Primary Lender/Borrower).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Jane,

Tried that. I am trying to find all loans related to one constituent, the query search should pull up a loan with the constituents last name as listed in module field "Primary Lender" or "Loan-Related Constituent", but it does not. What am I missing? Thanks for your help.

Hi Julie,

Drag Last name/First name from Available Hierarchies Loans->Constituent Alternate names and drop to Query Groups->Loans->Query Assistant.

Dear Dimitry,

To query Lender last name in Loans module what do I add to the Loans>>Query Assistant from the available hierarchy?

Thank you very much!

Julie

Ps - where do all the tutorials live these days?

Subject: FW: searching objects by Constituent attribute

Hello Everybody!

If you need to add fields to a query group in Advanced query or to Query assistant you can drop fields from Available Hierarchy to corresponding query group (DBConfiguration>>Manage menu>>Query Groups). However there couple of things you need to watch out for:

a. You can only drop from like modules. i.e. From Available Hierarchy Objects into Query groups Objects. You cannot drop from Constituents into Objects or from Objects into Constituents. If you try you will get this error message. To query across modules there are Xref hierarchies within module in Available Hierarchies directory that you can use to add to your search engine and that way you will be able to search on constituents in Objects or on loan number in Exhibition for example.

b. You need to drop into a query group, Query Assistant or Sorting within Query Group area for a particular module (Query Groups>>Objects>>Query Assistant for example or object cataloging group) . You cannot drop field into Query Group when your cursor is on Query Groups>>Objects or Constituents etc i.e. top level hierarchy of the Query Group for a module, it has to be on one of the query groups, query assistant or sorting.

Hope this helps. If anybody has more questions regarding this issue or this checks out and you are still getting this message, please contact support ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) . There are also tutorials available on our site.

Cheers!
Dimitry

Hello,
Try dropping the selected term into the Objects / Query Assistant
If you try an drop it anywhere else you get the 'Cannot drop here' error.

My apologise if you've already tried this.

Hi Chrisy,

Thanks for your reply. I had tried adding that field to the Objects Query Assistant yesterday, but I received (and am still receiving) a message saying "Cannot drop here". It looks like something in the Configuration settings is stopping me from adding it, though I can't tell what (I am logged in as the main system administrator account to try this). Thanks again,

Hi Joe,

We've put gender in the Constituent attributes as well, and I've added the term search to the Objects Query Assistant so that it's searchable through Objects. You can do this through Database Configuration > Query Groups > Available Hierarchies > Objects> Constituent Xrefs > keep drilling down until you get to Constituents > Term Search >Thesaurus Terms. Select the "Term" field there and drag it into the Objects, Query Assistant section.

Best,

Chrisy

Subject: searching objects by Constituent attribute

I was wondering if anyone had a report to generate a list of objects filtered by Constituent attribute or an idea on how to do a search in the Objects module by the same. This has come up because one of our educators would like to have a list of all of the objects by female artists in our collection. We put gender into Constituent records as an Attribute, so it is a trivial thing to go into the Constituent module, do a Term search on "female artist" (all words) and come up with all of the relevant Constituents. But given that there are several hundred of them, with a number having objects that were merely loans, etc., it's a pain to construct an object list through that path. I want to run the search or report in the Objects module, but am finding it tests my abilities at the moment (and I have no TMS admin right now!). Thanks in advance,
