There is a configuration setting in TMS called ObjectNumber.Search.IncludeObjectNumber2. Setting this will allow you to search both Object Number and Secondary Object Number in the same query.

We've never used it because you can't search simultaneously on both Object Number and Secondary Number as you can with Alternate Number (using the Search Alternate Numbers checkbox.) Or am I wrong?

We use the secondary object number field for catalog raisonné numbers. Our print curators like to sort their reports by catalog raisonné numbers, and this field has a sortnumber field.

Good morning all -
Just curious, has anyone (using after TMS2010) found a use for the "Secondary Object Number" field? We have not put it into use yet, but I'm considering using it for component numbers.
Currently, if something has components in the number (say a bodice and skirt) the main number is 1999.100.1a,b. Sometimes this causes confusion with staff when searching. I'm thinking of making the Object number 1999.100.1 and then using the Secondary Object Number to record the 1998.100.1a,b. This would be a bit of a pain to change, but might be worth it for better basic staff searching.
Thoughts on how others are using it? (If you're using it?)
