We use both gilt and gilded. Many of our curators use gilt as a noun,
as in "silver and silver gilt", "gilding", as well as "gilded and
polychromed wood"

Not to mention those who use guilt as a weapon...

Subject: Guilding, gilt or gilded?

Do you have any policies concerning the use of the terms guilding, gilt
or gilded? I would like to standardized these within our institution,
and am trying to find out what other museums are doing.
