This is turning into a huge group, isn't it? But if there's room for one more, please keep MFA,Houston involved. We've been struggling with a comprehensive collections management approach to dealing with time based media, and how to catalogue it (and all of the various components that are part of the deal) is of interest to me.

Thanks!
David

Dear All

Can you add us into the group as well please? We are looking at this issue right now for both historic films, contemporary art and community history films so is very timely.

Thanks
Jen

I would also like to get in on this if anyone is starting an informal subgroup list. We have some film that isn't on the immediate horizon for cataloging, but I'd like to have some idea of what other are doing when we get there.

Diane.

Hi Jared,

I'm currently assessing TMS (2012) for cataloguing film collections. Am very interested in discussing with others.

Thanks to Amber and David - I may contact you both off-list after my long weekend. It's good to know that we're not alone in this. We primarily have film elements that we're cataloging, which does have different needs than video. Anyone also cataloging film?

Sort of. We have existing records but there's been some disagreement about whether or not they are acceptable. We're going to be taking a close look at them in the next few weeks and most likely planning a major overhaul. So maybe we can plan to share information!

Best regards,
Amber

Is anyone else out there in TMS-land cataloging moving image collections?
