Dear all:
The Met will be implementing Conservation Studio across all our conservation departments. We have a new role to lead the project.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
You manage the implementation of the Museum's conservation and documentation system, across all conservation departments and scientific research while working closely with staff in those areas to ensure a successful transition to the new system. You prepare and plan the launch of the new system, establish new workflows, and create best practices for conservation documentation. You are responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the TMS system and will continue to collaborate with conservation staff in addressing their documentation needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  *   Plan system implementation and ensure all vendor requirements and deadlines are met.
  *   Manage data cleanup projects in preparation for data migration.

  *   Conduct thorough user and system administration testing prior to launch.
  *   Lead conservation staff in identifying and designing new workflows.
  *   Establish best practices and standards for conservation documentation in partnership with conservation staff.
  *   Create custom program configurations, including screens and security settings.
  *   Manage and plan system upgrades in collaboration with Manager of Collection Information.

  *   Serve as primary contact with the vendor
  *   Manage large scale data projects
  *   Performs ongoing activities and training to maintain and enhance TMS system

Education and Experience:

  *   Degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Information Science, or equivalent experience
  *   2-5 years working with museum cataloguing or collections management
  *   Experience with The Museum System (TMS)
  *   Knowledge and understanding of relational database systems
  *   SQL Server skills (or other relational database skills)

  *   Experience with end-user training; verbal and written communication skills
  *   Organizational, proofreading, and analytical skills

Compensation Range:

  *   Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000
  *   The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The advertised pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage for any specific employee. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. "Commuting distance" means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the "Tri-state and PA" areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
