Thanks, Christine and everyone who has responded to me offlist. An additional key to sorting the report described below (for the benefit of those wanting similar report) is to increase the column width and each row height to provide white space around each image. We're hoping not to take those extra steps after each export, but we're definitely getting closer and greatly appreciate the tips.

Frances, this is one that I modified from a report which (I think) Jeffrey Smith compiled several years ago and offered to the listserv.
The key here is that YOU MUST EXPORT TO Data-Only .xls
That way you can sort the rows with the accompanying thumbnail.

We need to cleanly export a 1,500+ object checklist with thumbnails to a fully sortable Excel (without post-export massaging to remove blank rows and insert images into cells as data) and are seeking both Crystal and SSRS examples.
Anything that includes object tombstone and the thumbBLOB would be useful, and I would absolutely sob in gratitude to find an example that includes tables or views from the exhibitions module.
