Status flags was my first thought, too. I'd say Status Flags, Relating them to each other, and/or using the Related Works field on the Documentation tab. If you developed a standard vocab to use in that field, it would be easier to use it for searching purposes.

Subject: duplicate objects in collection

Hello, There are duplicate objects in our collection. And I want to note this in the object record so that these duplicates can be identified in a database query. What is the best way to do this in TMS?  My first thought is to use a "status flag".
