External Email - Exercise Caution
Hi All,
URLs entered into TMS text fields work in eMuseum and could be useful in context, however for general references and resources, I agree with Rupert and would recommend using AltNums. eMuseum 6 relies on TMS AltNums for its ULAN feature, and as Danielle mentioned in her post regarding Youtube and Vimeo last week, it’s recommended to use AltNums for those types of URLs as well.
Best,
Alex

We use AltNums (where it exists) for external Linked Data identifiers, which take the form of URLs - e.g. to AAT and ULAN entries. Not used or objects yet, but we should be adding Wikidata IDs at some point.
But we're not eMuseum users.
Best wishes

This Message originated outside your organization.
Hi, all,
Does anyone use the Published References field to publish URLs related to the objects to eMuseum? Specifically, URLs for things like other institutions' references to your own objects, blog articles, etc.? I can see the benefits and pitfalls of doing this (PRO: aids in online research for anyone who doesn't have access to TMS. CON: could have dead links in a couple of years). If you have used this field (or another one) for this purpose, I'd love to hear about your experience.
All best,
Aaron
