Hi Eliza,

At the Guggenheim, we use the Loan/Reserve status drop-down on the Loans
module's Objects tab with values such as:

approved
approved-ratified
cancelled
declined
pending-high priority
pending-low priority
pending-medium priority

We use this for both outgoing and incoming loans, keeping track of both
the status of requests from outside and requests we make of other
institutions. We use Crystal Reports to produce checklists that filter
out any cancelled or declined objects and/or that list all objects and
reflect the loan/reserve status for each.

I'd like to see us start tracking request and approval dates as well,
and we may use the new date fields (on the Loans module's Objects xref
screen) in TMS 9.2 for this, as it seems doubtful that we'll track fees
on this screen - but that is yet to be decided.

Jeri

Subject: Tracking all loan information

Hello,

We are trying to devise a way to track outgoing loan requests and
consideration in TMS. We are using the loans module to manage approved
outgoing loans, but have no way to track the progress or denial of other
requests.

Are any institutions tracking this information? If so, how are you
maintaining the data in TMS?

Thank you!
