Jessica, Most Americans know calibers in inch measurements so 15 millimeters (.59 caliber) Usually most books and magazines list caliber stated in original stated caliber , say .30 inch for example with metric equivalent listed next to it (7.62mm) A researcher interested in firearms would probably be searching using the nomenclature caliber rather than a metric standard.
